"After I had finally got one of the 4 pop machines to “work “ I lost $5 in one of the resorts pop vending machine. It was the one at the quiet pool that is outside. No one can/will help. "The pool is only open till 6 pm. If you're out all day and want to use the pool or hot tub you're out of luck. Don't care for the tub/shower combination. "

"Location was AMAZING! Hotel clean and updated! We stayed in the 2 queen gallery tower. Very quiet and Fremont Street was only a 3 minute walk. The only complaint I would have is the Water pressure in the bathroom was not good and this room lacks a mini fridge."

"We were happy with the location however disappointed that there was no refrigerator, microwave,or coffee maker in the room. And to get those was an upcharge. We were here a week. I’ve never stayed at a hotel that didn’t have those things in the room. "

"This was a repeat visit to El Cortez. It is not only reasonably priced but it has a different character compared to other hotels given its history. Rooms were comfortable and staff were friendly. My only disappointment was the gaming selection in the casino. They used to have some older mid-2000s themes from IGT but these have been completely removed. Fortunately, you can go to other casinos in the Fremont area to play those games."

"I like the amenities of the property such as the pool, restaurants, game room, lobby, etc. What I didn't like was I called for extra items like toilet paper, dishwashing soap, towels, coffee etc since we were running out and had to call back three hours and was told someone was going to come and they never came. I called the next morning and someone came within 45 minutes to drop the items I requested off. "

"The casino was very smoky. The dining options were very limited, but the Chinese restaurant was awesome. The bowl facility was good. The room was nice, comfortable and clean. The shower design sucked, as it splattered water all over the floor. Had a towel down and had to ring it out twice, to get most of the water up. The bed was very comfortable. The staff was very polite and helpful."
