When we arrived at 11pm to check-in for a 12 night stay there were no staff & lights were shut off. Our taxi driver found a number to call & reached the staff. In which they directed us to find a key in a cooler stored outside to open the main door & then we were supposed to check ourselves in (the staff just left our room keys on the main desk). Definitely the oddest check-in experience ever.
The hotel is above a coffee shop & there are no elevators. Luckily our rooms were only on the 2nd floor, but those with mobility issues should be aware. I have a bad knee and the 2 flights daily exhausted me for most of our trip.
Facilities were clean, but well used. Bed was incredibly hard & sore on my back. Mosquitoes & spider bites were a daily annoyance, even with all the windows closed. All of my family came home with several bites just from sleeping.
While incredibly affordable for the week, we spent our last night at The Blu Monkey Hotel & enjoyed an elevator, pool, and the most comfortable beds I've ever slept on. Next time in Krabi, we'll just pay for the upgrade.
