"We enjoyed our time at the Olde Barn Hotel. It was a trip to visit family who lived local. In general the stay was good, the food was ok except for one morning when we down for breakfast there was no staff available, not much in the way of cooked breakfast. I went to reception to comment on no staff and within 5 minutes staff appeared. By then I was put off by the food that was available. I just had toast and cereal. "We had an amazing stay. It had everything we needed for a night. There were board games and plenty of books to keep you entertained. The bathroom was very tidy and clean. The bed was super comfortable. The details of the property added extra comfort too. We were visiting Stamford so it was an easy 15min drive through countryside. "This was probably the weirdest hotel experience in my life. The huge manor has been converted to a hotel but has been neglected recently (including a time housing asylum seekers - Google it). "Never again! When I arrived they had no record of my booking, even though I showed them the booking confirmation. After almost an hour they agreed to give me a room. When we were in the room it was freezing, it was -2 in the room, we tried the heating but it didn’t work. Asked reception to move us but they said they didn’t have any other rooms made up. We left at 6am because we couldn’t stand the cold."
