"Location is excellent for The Shambles, Roxy Ballroom, and around a 15 minute walk to York Minster. The hotel is very funky and we enjoyed being in the bar/foyer for a drink and the quiz and DJ. Very modern, young vibe but we were here for a 50th birthday and it suited us. "

"Very good, quiet room, clean. It loses a point because the breakfast is absolutely terrible. If they just abandoned the breakfast I would score it up. There are better breakfasts outside. Just use the room and go to a café. The basement rooms are better than you would think. They have windows and many have decent views. They’re called basement because it’s on a hill and you enter the hotel on the upper floor which is designated ground floor. "

"This hotel was roughly 15 minutes or less walking distance from all the main attractions in York. Great to walk out and see the castle right in front. The rooms were clean and decent size for the double bed room, and had pleasant staff. The included breakfast had a nice assortment of hot and cold food options. "Really enjoyed my stay room was lovely nice coffee machine complimentary water and biscuits, I was on the 8th floor with a view of the minster. "We arrived late due to our trains and our room was over looking the main road so very noisy. I asked to move rooms which they did and this room opened onto the car park with only one small window. As we were staying 3 nights the hotel very kindly moved us to a larger room in the main building the next day which was much more comfortable. Staff were very helpful and breakfast was good "
