"This is a lovely small hotel to stay in the walled village. You can park right in front which is a huge plus. We booked a triple room and it was spacious. I think the others are on the small side. Everything was spotless! Comfy bed with soft sheets. Our room was cold and it turned out our heat didn't work, but there were balnkets in the closet and that did the trick. Had a bowl of the traditional tomato soup for dinner and it was hearty and delicious!"

"The hotel it's reasonable priced. However on the bedroom we stayed I think was 7 the sink had a big crack. The shower door was unhinged and seem quite dangerous. The reason I would give a 3* was due a fridge as been diabetic was a bonus and also customer service otherwise would be a 2*. Pool and generic communal areas were dirty. Air con pipe drips water to the glass in front which looks quite bad. Yes it's April but the weather was 30degrees plus so should be clean. Breakfast no hot food even...

"What an exceptional spot! Marvao is incredible. The pousada is in a perfect location, and overlooking the plains below, it has a fabulous view. Our room, although small, was quite commodious and had historic traditional Portuguese furniture. Our dinner and breakfast were most enjoyable, although the dinner was not “gourmet”. Would we stay there again? Absolutely."

"The hotel is conveniently located just a few minutes walk from the Castelo de Vide. The building is dated but everything is very clean and tidy. The room we stayed in was very basic. Few electrical outlets, no cupboards or drawers for our clothes and poor lighting, but the heating worked and the shower was wonderful. The breakfast served was outstanding. "Without doubt the worst hostel I have stayed in in Europe. Can't check in before 18:00. Rules for everything. Access during the day is difficult as the door is locked. Access is difficult due to the steep staircase. Shared toilet bathrooms are like you experienced at school, maybe worse. Staff treat you like a 13 year old school kid. Don't touch the microwave! No facilities for storing or preparing your own food. Sleep on a rock hard single mattress covered in plastic. Tv doesn't work or staff...
