Visit the marina’s historic castle in the day and stay after the sun goes down to experience the lively restaurants and discotheques.

Paphos Harbour is home to an iconic castle, picturesque views of the Mediterranean Sea and a large portion of the city’s nightlife venues. The marina is an interesting place to watch local fisherman and boats in the afternoon. As evening falls, it becomes more animated, as revellers flock to bars and restaurants to listen to live music.

Have dinner at one of the many spots along the marina. Try Cypriot cuisine, a blend of traditional Greek and Turkish ingredients. Sample calamari or octopus stew. Experience a mezedes, where small dishes are brought to the table throughout the meal.

Sip cocktails and spirits at a bar until the early hours of the morning. Choose from pubs, bars with live DJs and clubs with great views of the beach.

Take a leisurely walk with your partner or family. Discuss your favourite boat in the port and gaze up at the stars. See Paphos Castle at night when it is soaked in golden light. Note the romantic mood generated by the reflection of the castle’s lights in the water.

You can visit the castle for a small fee during the day. Learn about its intriguing history, which incorporates many ruling dynasties. It has been used as a fort, prison and salt warehouse over the years.

Buy souvenirs and refreshments from the shops dotted around the harbour. Sit on a bench and watch the people and boats go by. The wide streets are mostly pedestrianized and lined with palm trees.

Paphos Harbour is next to the city’s iconic castle and the archaeological park in the southwest part of the city. There are several beaches nearby. It is easy to access the harbour by bus, because there are many stops in the area. You can also take a taxi from the city centre, which is about 2 miles (3.2 kilometres) north of the harbour.

I would recommend "The Moorings" to drink or dine at any time of the day, but if you want a good cocktail then going to Alea (Poseidonos Avenue 5, Paphos 8041) is a must

Beautiful place to walk. We took a bus from our hotel and explored the surrounding area and ended up at the harbour just in time for the sun set. Simply stunning
