"Nice hotel with friendly staff. Rooms were clean and tidy. Hotel is a bit tired but OK. Nice garden area. Only downside is lack of elevators, I had fifth floor room which was a trudge to get to. Overall very good value for money. "

"We've stayed in about 10 hotels in India and Nepal. This was my favorite as the building has a lot of character and the staff is amazing. Gopi is super kind and helpful. The breakfast options were really good. The location is also perfect for food and shopping. "

"We stayed there 2 nights and we already booked for an other 3 nights when we will come back in Kathmandu. The location is perfect to be closed enough of everything, but this area of Thamel is quiet and safe. We loved the room and the breakfast is perfect to start the day! This hotel also honor nepali reputation of kindness! Look forward to go back to shop, eat well and rest before our flight home! "

"I initially booked 2 nights but ended up staying for 8. You might find something that looks similar and is a few dollars cheaper but I didn’t even go hunting once I found that Jay Suites had an elevator, powerful AC with a simple on-off controller, a good bed, excellent shower with unlimited hot water, an in-room fridge with 2 free 1 litre bottles of water daily, and a better than average breakfast for about $5. The staff were exceptionally friendly and dealt with one minor plumbing issue...
