It was a large resort with several pools, water parks, and a big beach. The buffets were great and we really liked 3/5 restaurants we tried. Our experience the spa was phenomenal. The majority of the staff were very friendly and accommodating, although we did have a few off experiences. The resort is beautiful and there are quite a bit of night time activities, however all the day time activities were only in the adults only areas, not at the family pools, so we were not able to participate. Overall great stay and we would return.

Beautiful family friendly beach and pools. Don’t except an “upgrade” if you’ve booked a family suite. You will lose big beds and won’t have a door on the bathroom area. Couldn’t change my clothes without kicking my boys out. Too much traffic on the sidewalks. Constantly dodging shuttles and hotel vehicles. Food was fine. Nothing spectacular but fine.

The property is beautiful and the beach is breath taking. The food was actually very good in my opinion. The restaurants had great selection and the quality was great. It felt weird going out for fancy dinners this good and not having to pay! Such a treat. Loved the cupcake cafe for endless treats and the coffee drink selection was awesome. The two cons I found about the all-inclusive was that our shower was luke warm/cold the entire stay and was not fixed when we voiced our concerns. Our friends said they had the same issue. It was also a bit frustrating that all of the pool chairs were claimed first thing in the morning by people with their towels that weren’t even there. It was very hard to get a pool chair at any time during our stay. Other than that, we were very happy with our stay and think it’s definitely something you should try if you haven’t before.

The kids had a great time at the waterpark which made me put everything else aside. The rooms were large but dated - it did not appear to be a 5 star resort which is what is advertised. The customer service was lacking. Front desk personnel were awful to deal with. Both elevators in our building were out of service and we were located on the 3rd floor. Though our room was ready upon check in, they wanted to charge us $20 per person to check in 52 mins early (prior to there 3pm check in). Lastly, the food was fabulous! I would not recommend staying at this resort without kids. You could get better service about anywhere else!

The resort was very nice and clean. Rooms were big and well equipped. However the family area is a very long walk from the beach and main buffet. I also noticed that most of the beach chairs are blocked off for the executive level people as well as a few of the more convenient pools. Furthermore if you would like to book a dinner at one of the a la cart good luck unless you are executive level.

Beach is unreal.. kids loved the water slides. Only brutal thing is the trolley to get to the buffet and beach from the rooms. It’s about a 15 minute walk… gets annoying with the kids and all of their stuff.

Stayed for 1 week for a wedding, room was ok, had good AC and spacious. Property requires ALOT of walking to access restaurants beach and bars. Restaurants required reservations which were very limited during the week only ate at 2 due to availability. They provide towel keys & charge $50 per key if not returned at check out. Staff and housekeeping staff not the best at providing keys back. Food was terrible, cold, no flavor, not good at all!!!!!

We went down for a friends wedding & I will never return to a Sandos again. The place looks exactly like the pictures, except everything's literally falling apart. It was raining a couple days & my mom who stayed in a separate room was literally leaking water and drywall chunks were coming off the ceiling. There were literal puddles in her room. Our shower head just started spraying water after being there for 2days & we had to call them 3 times to get it fixed & even then it wasn't fixed properly. Out of all the staff the maids were the nicest. We had like 2 nice waiters who actually paid you attention. Most of the staff was kind of rude. Then again it might just not be the brightest place to work either. 2 days into our vacation BOTH elevators just didn't work & we were on the 3rd floor & had to take the stairs with a newborn & 2 toddlers. Not to mention the poor workers had to take the stairs for room service, stocking up everyone's fridges, THE BELL BOYS TAKING UP LUGGAGE. The resort is beautiful on the outside but I would not stay here again. It's HUGE & they have a trolly that's supposed to pass by every 5min but totally doesn't. Then you waste so much time just waiting. The food is not good, they have so many options but it's not to die for. Breakfast for instance ends at 10:30am & I was getting food & staff would just rudely take the tings from under my arms without even stay excuse me. For the same amount of money I could've stayed at the Riu & that place is NICE.

Best beach so far on Mexico east coast. Beautiful nature surrounding cozy haciendas. Friendly animals could be seen on different sites. Lots of family activities.

The beach at Sandos Playacar is probably its best quality - it is unmatched! The front family pool area is superb! The food here is also top-notch. Service is terrific. We enjoyed the cupcake cafe and taco buffet also. The entertainment was pretty good. Being there with kids, there is a large area of the resort they are not allowed. For us that was a bummer. We didn’t use the upper pools much, they were cold. Possibility due to being shaded much of the afternoon.

Had a great time. Our trip was made even more enjoyable with the great service from staff especially a girl named Kena who took care of all our needs whether it was excursions, information, bookings for meals or transportation. She definitely made our trip much better.

Good property, exclusive club was in middle of family area a little too much, wish room was stocked with liquor like most other all inclusives, sewage got backed up by front but they cleaned that quickly, towels were not there when we checked in but they fixed that as well

After a 14 hour experience to get there we were put in a room with no water and no phone working and I and my wife are in the late 70 and this was at the furthers end of the property (1 kilometre) from the beach and changed me 6160.00 pesos to upgrade to an elite room close to the beach as we have trouble walking long distances. After getting up at 4:00am to leave for Mexico it’s now 9:00 pm we finally get to the elite suite the air conditioning is so noisy we have to shut it off to sleep and on the second last the fan assembly of the air conditioning unit fell off with a loud bang and after waiting 2 hours a repair man fixed. Also the bathroom had lots of mould on the ceiling and they totally refused to compensate the 6160 pesos for the week. The building wire elite suite had 2 of 3 elevato permanently out order so made very hard for us at our age to do the stairs. So yes never Sandos for us ever again
