"My second stay here, and even with the renovations going on ( which I knew of previously) it was a fabulous stay! Super friendly service across everyone encountered. King Studio room was beautiful views of the marina and so spacious! Loved having the living room addition. Very clean and super comfy bed! Hot tub was great, did not use pool. I did miss the restaurant/bar on this stay but found places close by so not big deal. I’ll look forward to my next visit to SD and seeing their renovations...

"My biggest advice- take the upgrade. The Pines is the renovated version of La Jolla Coves and very modern, clean, and functional. I initially was placed in one of the regular rooms and I would have never stayed there- the room was dirty and the quality of a cheap motel. Otherwise, this property is a fantastic location and the staff was nice. When I reported the dirty room they addressed my concerns promptly and upgraded my room."
