"This is one of my favorite places to stay when visiting Austin. The hotel has nice, modern decor, and the staff is always very friendly and helpful. I really appreciate the fact that only people who have a key card can enter the building at all times. It always makes me feel very safe! Because the hotel is located right by the highway, traffic can be very loud if you're placed in a room that faces that direction, so I'd advise asking to be given a room in a different area if you're a light...

The location on South Congress had great walkability; they had great coffee available in the lobby and we enjoyed sitting around the small pool in the afternoon"

"Unusual decor reminds one of a spa swim club. Interesting to learn that this was one a place where visiting carpenters stayed, hence the name. We had a private balcony looking into the branches of a large pecan tree. We loved every aspect of our room. And nearby Barton Springs Rd. has lots to offer!"
