Upon arrival to The Sands, we were greeted by friendly staff and offered a cold welcome drink of choice with instructions for an easy and quick self check in process.
As we arrived prior to check in time, our room was not quite ready, but we were offered lunch and were invited to start enjoying the many amenities available to all guests.
After a short wait, we were assisted with our luggage to a beautiful two bedroom ocean view suite with a separate living and dining area. Suite was presentable and clean.
Breakfast, which was a buffet, offered a variety of options including scrambled eggs, cheese, vegetables, fruit, yogurt, cereals, breads or eggs cooked fresh any style. Fresh juices, coffee and tea was available. At breakfast you would reserve a time for lunch and supper. Supper varied from buffet to A La Carte. As my spouse and I are on the go individuals, we rarely booked our meals as our days were usually booked exploring Barbados, however, the staff was very accomodating if we ended up back at the resort without a reservation for supper.
The bar staff was great, offering a variety of cocktails, wine and beer.
The beach was beautiful with clear turquiose water and white powdery sand. Although we visited during a very abnormally windy week, you could enjoy a safe swim to cool off.
The Sands gave us a true sense of island life. It reminded us that we need to slow down and enjoy life. Thankyou to The Sands and staff for making us feel at home, away from home.
