This has to be the cleanest resort i have ever stayed in. They are always cleaning the rooms, dining area's, loby, hallways. I would recommend this resort to everyone.

Beautiful place, i loved it. We came here for our honeymoon. Restaurants were amazing but only at the adults only resort. The other ones were ok. Pool was great rooms were clean. They had some games and go karts.

It’s a well oiled machine. For as large as the whole Barcelo complex is, They have it down to a science. Beautiful grounds even the parts few people see. One example of their attention to detail was a grounds men noticed that a walkway light was broken, knocked over, he took a picture and within less than 30 minutes two maintenance workers showed up with a new light and fixed it. Also impressed with the food quality at all the restaurants and buffet. This was our fourth visit to the property. It continues to get better each time.

The property was beautiful, modern, super clean and I love the convenience of visiting neighboring properties, however, the staff are not the most accommodating, you must have a reservation for dinner reservations and if you are a minute late they will cancel your reservation which happened to us and the restaurant was pretty empty, that’s ridiculous also, the snack and food options after hours are very minimal and unfavorable, not very accommodating for those arriving after 6pm.

Love the rooms, pool & beach access - especially in the adults only resort. Breakfasts and lunches were average but most of the dinners were exceptional. I would recommend for anyone to book as many dinners as quickly as possible once you arrive if you want something specific.

We liked that the rooms were clean, spacious and had a great view of the ocean. The dining options are excellent and the mirabar buffet for breakfast and lunch is adequate. What we didn't like was the fact that we were right next to lobby area and they had DJ nights and music blaring all 4 nights that we were there till almost 2-3 AM in the morning. We were there for a relaxing vacation. To get out of the noise and hullabaloo of our city life and this kept us awake at nights. Frustrated and exhausted. We complained to the Reception and resort management and their responses were outright rude . I liked my stay but wouldn't come back here

Pros:The rooms were very nice and the beds were very comfortable. The resort was beautiful as was the beach. The Spa was well appointed and the hydrotherapy circuit was a highlight. The Japanese restaurant was the best food option. Cons: The premium service was lacking. They could handle more than just booking restaurant’s reservations. Ie. Transportation, excursions etc. No service on the beach is ridiculous. Better loungers would be nice especially at the adult only beach and possibly a premium area. They definitely seemed understaffed at the pool bars at times. They did a great job but needed more staff. Not being able to have food at the pool or brought to the pool was a negative. No wine at the pool bars (rose) and the champagne option was not good. We were there for 10 days and the food options definitely got boring. The taco bar was amazing. The Italian and French restaurants were ok. Would I stay again? For a shorter period, maybe but there are better options that cater to my likes within the same pricing that I would probably go back to. If they fixed the few cons I had and offered up some more food options (without having to go to the other resorts) and kept the pricing similar, I would definitely consider this resort again and again

We stayed at Barcelo Maya Riviera Adults for 12 days. We paid for the Premium package and totally regretted it. The whole concept of Premium is a joke. We did not receive anything that any other person would not have received. When we arrived there was fruit and sparkling water with a welcome letter for someone else, not us. The room had a very strong musty smell. In our suite we had a constant battle with housekeeping to get cups and coffee for the morning. One morning I called Premium guest services 3 times to have some delivered and none came. I had to go out into the hallways in the morning and try and find someone. I finally found 2 nice ladies who pick up the dishes outside the rooms and they washed 2 dirty ones for me. Totally unacceptable. The distance from out suite in the Premium area to the lobby is 1/4 of a mile each way so I was not going to go that far for cups. The food is some where between average and terrible. Many choices of cold breakfast foods but if you want anything from the grill the line is about a dozen to 20 people long. Ugh! The Adult Only area has 850 rooms and suites. There is only 1 lobby bar with 1 bartender. To get a drink the line is very long and slow. That was mind blowing to us. We were on the 4th floor. It is very noisy with doors slamming, furniture dragging across the floor above us and partying on their patio until past 3AM. We met some nice people but most were not even friendly. We would not stay again nor recommend it to anyone.

I enjoyed our stay so much! The staff were attentive and excellent. The nightly entertainment was a nice touch! Felipe in the swim up bar was absolutely phenomenal. We also very much enjoyed the Mariachi band entertainment at both the Mexican and the Italian restaurant. We will be back!!

Service and Management is a big miss. The buffet was terribly staffed and constantly ran out of food items. Additionally they were overwhelmed by convention center attendees. The reservations for dinner is unavailable. We stayed 4 days and was unable to get any reservations, just unacceptable. Staff lacked empathy or any desire to improve service. Room service does not come everyday and i had to call daily. Mini fridge was not restocked and guest services did not help. Quality of alcohol is poor, definitely not premium. Coffee machine constantly broken and as beautifully constructed resort, the staffing needs to be increased. We frequent MX about 5 times annually and we wont return, simply not justified for the price.

Si tienen la posibilidad de hospedarse en el hotel háganlo, todo es perfecto desde que llegas al lobby te dan bebidas de bienvenida, las instalaciones son muy limpias, llegas a las albercas y el piso no está mojado siempre hay personas revisando eso, la comida, bebidas y la playa todo es 10/10. Respecto a los restaurantes de especialidad el mejor fue el Francés “La Comedie” son deliciosos sus platillos y la atención del mesero Abigail es excelente festejamos un cumpleaños y nos dio un pastelito :). Son detalles que ayudan y completan la estadía. Me pareció impresionante ver el grado tan alto de atención al cliente de parte de todos los empleados. En mi grupo había una persona con intolerancia a la lactosa y me gustó que en el buffet principal siempre había comida acorde a esta situación. Espero volver muy pronto.
