Everything about this property was top notch! Five stars all around. Food,Service,Drink was all above expectations.My wife couldn't wait to go to bed because the bedding was so comfortable. We plan on making this a twice a year vacation destination.Awesome Resort!!!

Just got back today! The hotel was beautiful! Absolutely the best beach so far that we’ve been to in the area! Rooms were very nice and everything was spotless! The few things I feel that could be improved are more dining options, a grill that serves lunch and bar or waitress service on the beach. The pool could’ve been a little warmer and bar in the pool could’ve had better service. Drinks at the pool bar were also a little weak. Overall the place is picture perfect and the weather was absolutely incredible! Nice winter getaway to reset and warmup!!!

This was an amazing resort! There were tons of chairs and seating areas. The pools were huge and the water features were awesome! At times there was a long wait for drinks because there weren’t enough bartenders working. The whole resort was sooooo clean!

A lot of employees didn’t speak English. The shows were kind of letdown. The property, room, pool and beach area very nice. Did have issues with house keeping two different times out of soap two days and blood on bed when we returned to room. House keepers argued with us and told us it was gum. Took pictures and showed it clearly blood. No sorry or anything for issues.

We loved the staff so much they were the best!!!! The view is so beautiful and spectacular from the gorgeous sandy beach. It has plenty of chairs and palm trees, you enjoy hours of sun and fun, the ocean is clear and beautiful with small fish and turtles and storks and hawks and gulls it was wonderful! Then just behind that was the bar and pool area with hours of hot folks to cool of and lounge. The our pretty room with a swim up pool and bath tube on deck was sweet for romantic nights with my wife. She loved the pillows and the bed was huge. But the best most special part was the staff and the food and the drinks. The staff makes everything so much more comfortable. Viva Barcelo staff thank you so much 💙

The only thing that needs adjustment is the availability of restaurants to the guests that aren't in the premium level. Every night at all the reservation time slots there are multiple tables empty but they tell you it's booked. They save spots for the premium level guests. That leave very early or very late openings for the rest of the guests. Hopefully you don't get shut out.

The property was in great condition. Buffet food was good. The 4 Ala Cartes need improvement. The other 4 properties Ala Cartes are much better. No dinner buffet is an inconvenience as you have to walk to adjacent properties for dinner buffets. Room was clean but had a definite musty smell. Need deodorizer. Beach chairs were all taken by 11:00 am leaving no chairs for some guests. Overall a great stay during peak season.

Barceló is a huge resort made up of multiple different properties. You can wonder between the properties to get different experiences and shopping. We enjoyed our stay and the food was good, but not amazing. The staff were not very friendly nor gracious compared to our experiences at other resorts, and although it says they speak both spanish and english, we struggled communicating with staff using english. Beware- they do require pants and closed toed shoes for men at all dinner reservations, which we did not see before our arrival. Overall, we have definitely had better experiences.

Disappointing Experience – Poor Service and Strict Rules I recently stayed at the Barceló resort, and while the property itself was beautiful, the overall experience was frustrating due to the poor quality of service and unnecessary restrictions. The biggest issue was the staff’s lack of attention to detail and urgency. Requests were often ignored or took forever to be fulfilled. Simple things like getting extra towels or ordering a drink at the bar felt like a chore. The staff seemed indifferent, and at times, even rude. For a resort of this caliber, I expected much better service. Another major letdown was the food. The options were extremely limited, and the quality was underwhelming. By the second day, it felt like we were eating the same thing over and over again. For a resort that markets itself as high-end, I expected more variety and fresher ingredients. To make matters worse, they enforce a strict dress code for dinner, requiring men to wear long pants. While I understand the need for some level of formality, this policy felt outdated and unnecessary, especially in a beachside resort. Meanwhile, service at the restaurants was slow, adding to the frustration. It’s a shame because the resort itself is stunning, with great potential. However, the lack of attention to detail, poor service, and unnecessary rules made the stay more stressful than relaxing. I wouldn’t return, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for a truly enjoyable vacation.
