"Loved the hotel, welcomed by very personable and kind doormen who were so friendly and attentive throughout our whole stay. The room was lovely and very spacious! Pool was busy but still nice! The location was also great, which a short walk over the river into the centre of York and the hotel was a perfect get away from the busy streets after a day walking around. Only negatives would be the foyer and welcome - it was very busy and queues up to the door! There needed to be a more efficient...

"Lovely two night stay. Charming rooms which were dog friendly, additional charge applied. Large freestanding bath and separate rainfall shower. Tuck shop with fab goodies free of charge. Booked and paid for on site parking which was convenient. Short walk into the centre of York. Would recommend! "

"Overall the stay was good. The room was clean and comfortable, with late breakfast available at weekends. The dining experience in the Inkwell bar/restaurant was very poor. Long waits at the bar to order even though there was enough staff. Ordered a steak, waitress was poor then had to go up to get a steak knife."

"We had a fabulous two night stay. Staff were wonderful throughout our stay, made us very welcome. Hôtel is charming and our room was spacious and can fault anything about it. One of the best places we stayed. Big shout out to Caroline who arranged for a little surprise for my husband and to the lovely lady who served us behind the bar. ( we didn’t get her name) We will definitely be coming back. "

"I enjoy staying at this hotel normally but discovered some snags this trip. I could not reduce the room temperature using the climate control and at 24 degrees it was too hot for sleeping. I turned the system off and opened the window. Unfortunately the room was located directly above the hotel entrance and smoking area which led to a disturbed sleep. Next time I’ll request a room at the back of the hotel. Other than that it’s still a good value hotel, comfortable and with very pleasant staff."
