"Great hotel centrally based easy access to main railway station 8mins walking approx. Nice functional room with work space and light. Tea & coffee in room was good. Breakfast, there was a good selection. I ordered evening meals in the bar and they were adequate however limited. My overall stay was very positive and I would recommend this hotel. One thing the hotel would benefit from is a water bottle refil system in a public area. "

Shower really nice but hand basin hot water just tepid no matter how long it was run for. We took advantage of no cleaning of room in exchange for evening drink. We would stay again. Next visit will be in a warmer and brighter month. "

"Rooms were very clean and adequate. Rooms warm during a cold January stay. Cooked breakfast was great. Hostess Caroline was a delight. Flat 10 minute walk to city gate (see photo). So no need to park closer unless you have a walking disability. Very desirable location. The only thing that would have made it better was to let customers know in advance that parking is £12.50 @ night. No nearby free parking in sight. Don’t hesitate to stay here. "
