Tour the stadium, witness an AFL showdown, see a game of rugby or cricket, browse the Bradman Collection, dine in style or rock out at a concert.

Come to the Adelaide Oval to watch sporting legends clash on the hallowed turf during a footy or cricket match. Boo or roar with the excited fans during a home game, or just sit back and enjoy the spectacle.

Although first built in 1871, the much-redeveloped stadium maintains a modern look and feel and now has room for some 50,000 spectators. The venue is also set up for rugby, soccer and tennis games, as well as big-name concerts.

Go on a guided stadium tour to stand on the very ground where some of the most epic moments in Australia’s sporting history have played out. With a history that goes back to the early days of Australian rules football (AFL) and cricket, the Adelaide Oval is a real South Australian icon. Both the Adelaide Crows and the Port Adelaide Power call it home and this is one of the few stadiums that hosts international test cricket.

The partial roof above the stands provides sun and rain protection for spectators and you can grab drinks and snacks from the kiosks to keep you going. Also take the opportunity to browse the exhibits of the Bradman Collection, on loan from State Library. Before you leave, pose by the statue of this legendary Aussie batsman outside the gates.

You could also watch the action from a distance as you sip on the state’s famous wines in the on-site restaurant, Hill of Grace. Adelaide’s exciting restaurant scene is famous for its seasonal, locally sourced organic foods and South Australian wines, and Hill of Grace is no exception. The views of the oval from this lofty space in the Audi Stadium Club are awesome too.

Check to see if your trip to Adelaide coincides with any concerts happening at the oval. Some of the world’s most legendary performers, from Madonna to Aussie rockers AC/DC, have graced the stage here.

The Adelaide Oval in North Adelaide is an easy walk from the city centre. Getting here by public transport and car is easy too, with several parking garages nearby. Purchase your tickets for the games, tours and concerts online or at the gates.
