"This was a clean and cheap option for my stay. I found the room to be clean and modern. The bed was comfy. The breakfast was nice. I'd say the shower was a little on the small side, but ultimately excellent value for what I paid. I would stay again. I needed an early check in, but didn't let them know. The staff were accommodating of me and friendly. "

"On one side, this hotel looks out over a car park, on the other side over the sea or the harbour + abbey. You pay extra for views, but it is worth it: it is the best view you are going to get anywhere in Whitby. As for the hotel itself: it is showing its age, but has been well maintained e.g. updated bathrooms, beds are comfortable and exceptionally large. Good restaurant too. We were very happy there. Only minor complaint is no thermostatic valve on the showers. Other than that, this hotel is excellent."
