"For a start, the room descriptions are misleading - notice despite there being 32 pictures posted, none are of the actual rooms (or the stairs). There are not deep soaking tubs in each room, or even separate bathrooms at all. There is ONE bath, ONE shower room and ONE toilet. They are separate, but shared between all rooms. "The hotel is above a little restaurant. Meals are not included, but they are very good traditional Japanese food. The place is literally right behind the Biei train station, which is an ideal location for pretty much everything. The owners didn't speak too much English, but I was able to make due with my limited Japanese. The AC in the room was weak, but being Hokkaido all I had to do was open the window with the screen and my room was perfect."

"Our hosts were very welcoming and friendly, and even helped drive us to the train station and stopped at the beautiful snowy sights around Biei along the way. This is a beautiful location, close to AKJ airport (by car, or by bus with a bit of walking). We decided to stay here because we wanted an easy location to stay the night after arriving in Hokkaido, before heading to the mountains.
