"Overall a great stay at York Roomzzz. The location is great, only a short walk into town. The room was clean and comfortable, the only issue was the noise from the apartment above, which kept me awake but thankfully not the kids. "This is a nice hotel in good location. They have free parking and that is a plus. The host works very hard to see that you have a good stay. The breakfast area is rather busy with a fixed breakfast that is not self serve.. As in many of these stately hotels in England, you have to struggle up three flights of stairs with your luggage as there is no lift. "Really lovely place. Staff can't do enough for you. Really convenient to walk into York and excellent value for money. The room was a good size and the bed was really comfortable. I did turn the radiator on in both the bathroom and bedroom as it got quite cold at night and it was lovely and snug. Only slight negative was being by the kitchen (room 2) and could hear the staff every morning. Others have mentioned being able to hear everything and i understand that due to the building being a grade...

"Nice hotel in a great location for the centre of York and train station. Comfortable beds and good selection of breakfast. My one complaint would be the air conditioning, the rooms were very stuffy and hot and the air conditioning did not appear to be blowing out cool air. We were given a fan from reception but i cant imagine the room will be pleasant in the height of summer."

"Our stay at The Grand was lovely, we hadn’t been to York for a few years but the standard of the hotel hasn’t changed. For us it is the only place to stay in York with an excellent location for the city and station of arriving by train. The staff are so welcoming and special mention to Wayne at the entrance he is a credit to the hotel, so welcoming to everyone! Our room was gorgeous and very clean and very quiet at night. Overall a lovely stay and we will stay agin next time we are in York! "
