Good location for why we wanted it.
The hotel was in a great spot for the 1940’s weekend. They were understaffed at breakfast and the food wasn’t nice For the price you have to pay. The room was fine but we were charged for an early check in and the room wasn’t ready. Luckily they refunded this cost but the communication seemed a bit slack.

Staff not very competent
Requested carparking & given wrong information about this on our arrival After one night of our stay, was telephoned by reception staff to Tell me I was checking out ! The person repeated 3 times this. Eventually listened to me telling him that I had booked & paid for 3 nights & intended to stay for 3. When I booked I requested room with full size bath. On arriving at the hotel I found our room had ensuite wet room. I immediately went to the reception & said we have no bathroom. The male receptionist Sarcastically said all of our rooms are ensuite bathrooms. l mentioned to him our room had no bath. He eventually said no rooms had baths !. 3 or 4 times the Key Card had to be changed as they would not give us access to the room. Friends who pre booked &paid, were told on arrival that they had not paid.& had to pay again. They returned to reception later with the confirmation that they Had paid & were told they could only get a refund of the additional payment as they were leaving ! Is this hotel staffed with untrained personnel ???

Generally satisfied - a few niggles
Good room with very comfortable bed and a quiet night. Had breakfast, at a slightly over-priced £ 9.99 Staff were extremely helpful throughout. They pointed the way to good quality restaurants in walking distance. Good info on getting free wi-fi when I phoned reception. Parking was a bit limited (and not helped by some lousy parking by other visitors)but we were lucky in spotting someone else leave as we arrived. The tv channels had been de-tuned and not many restored so we couldn't get the BBC4 programme we'd planned to watch. Room was a bit hot and air conditioning system was either malfunctioning or too complex for us to change settings effectively. Given what we paid, we were generally satisfied.

We stayed for 2 nights everything was very good it was the 4th time we have been to this hotel and have already booked for Novermber. The only downside to the hotel is not many parking spaces other than that 10 out of 10

This is one of the cleanest hotels we have stayed at,staff so friendly and helpful it made it feel more like a family run hotel than a chain, two small gripes cant turn heating down and spare pillows past the usable life, own fault didn't complain but only a two night stay so not a problem

OK for 1 or 2 nights
Staff were friendly and the hotel was clean. Not a single drawer in the room and the hanging space was a bar sticking out of the wall, no wardrobes! OK for 1 maybe 2 nights, but I wouldn't want to stay here any longer with nowhere to put your things.

Grand house close to Duxford Air Museum
Lovely room (with four poster bed!) in the old stables area - now called the 'garden' rooms. Quaint and with everything we needed. A walk around the corner to the village gave us three pubs, one with a restaurant. Of course there is a restaurant in this hotel as well. Breakfast was delicious - linen cloths, heavysilverware, all the good stuff. Very pleasant staff who told us about the historynofnthe house as well.

Comfortable with a cold welcome!
Nice clean hotel. The duty manager however got a bit snotty when I chose not to leave a card number for room charges! We were only there to sleep, maybe he needs to realise we're not all there on business accounts!

Disappointing visit.
On arrival, we found the two staff on duty helpful and efficient. It was a little unsettling to be told that there were no vacancies for Dinner, however, it transpired that Dinner was not being served at all. On our return to the hotel after our meal in the town, we found that the room was hot-25 degrees C. The air conditioning was not working, and after a visit, on duty staff could only offer us a fan. This did help, but not a lot. A hot night followed! The room appeared clean, however we did find an old sock on the floor-not ours. We did report on all of these matters to the receptionist when checking out, who expressed her surprise, but gave a lukewarm apology. A minor matter, but worth a comment, in a supposed 3 star hotel, should they serve powdered scrambled egg?

One of the worst night's sleep I have ever had. Extermely uncomfortable bed coupled with 100% polyester sheets and duvet which made sleeping unbelievably hot.

Fab stay
Absolutely overwhelmed by the things they all did for me. Fab team. Quiet room. The only thing i will say is i hoped the cleaner ladies started later as they were quite loud. Other than that wonderful place.

The hotel was as expected, but parking was an issue. There are only a few spaces outside the hotel (once you work out how to get there), and no indication as to where to park when these spaces are full. The room was very clean, the bed was fairly comfortable, but VERY creaky. Staff weren't very welcoming.

Great Hotel Close to Restaurants and Shops
Stayed in a family room for 2 nights. The room had a double bed and a double sofa bed which my son had for himself as quite tall. The room was quite tight with both beds in use. I would say the size of the room was only suitable for 2 people as there was no space for a wardrobe and the small bar with a few hangers (6-7) was not sufficient unless leaving out of a suitcase. The hotel staff were professional and polite at all times. They had to serve the reception area as well as the bar so a little stretched. We had breakfast on the last morning and it was good - usual sausages, bacon, beans, eggs and cereals and fresh fruit sufficient to set you up for the day. There were numerous settees in the sitting area so plenty of space for groups etc. We would recommend and use this hotel again in the future.

Good location but overall disappointing.
Unfortunately, a creaky bed and noisy air conditioning made for an uncomfortable night. Breakfast was chaotic despite the best efforts of the receptionist (bless her) as we had to wait 25 minutes to get egg and bacon as it ran out at the buffet.
