"Excellent service, kind and helpful hosts -- we felt lucky to be here during a 48-hour power outage, when they gave us battery-powered flashlights and for several hours were able to get a generator working (and we still had a great breakfast both days). The place is full of fascinating collectibles from many decades ago. We stayed in Room 3 (the Elvis room)."

" My stay could not have been better. The property is beautiful, room was impeccably clean and comfortable, service was top tier with a doorman 24 hours a day. A full, delicious breakfast is served on the deck each morning. The staff were all extraordinarily kind, helpful, and made my stay so enjoyable. Located in a very safe area; I never felt unsafe walking alone in Havana. I highly recommend this property for your visit to Havana!"

"Hostel Balcones is a gem!!! I have traveled around the world, and this place is now in my top two!! Customer service here is exquisite! Jorge checked us in and educated us on everything we needed to know about what to do and not to do in Havana. Jorge is also a gem…. Everyone that worked there made us feel like we were family. The place itself had so much character and charm. The breakfasts each morning were included, and the chef even cooked our eggs right in front of us!! She was top notch. Amazing how the owner took a run down building and made it into a beautiful haven…. Thank you again Hostal Balcones- we will be back!! :)"

"This is the perfect home base to explore Havana. Exquisitely restored house in a residential area with the best staff and manager. I've stayed here several times. The service is the most personal, genuine and warm I've ever experienced! Each room is well appointed with beautiful antiques and decor, plus a/c and bathroom. Every time I come it's improved even more! They will take good care of you! "

"Beautiful old house and well maintained. My room was very clean and comfortable and had everything I needed, including air con and a fan. They have their own generator which kicks in immediately when there is a power cut, as is often the case in Cuba. Very nice breakfast. Christian speaks excellent English and is always happy to help with any enquiry about what to visit, where to eat and so on. He helped arrange a shared taxi for me when I left, which was greatly appreciated. Keep up the good work, Christian!"

This is undoubtedly the most beautiful and unique house in Cuba, serving as a living museum of art and history. The furniture, the curtains, and every little detail in the building tell a story from the past. It feels as if you've entered a palace where time has stood still. The host was incredibly kind and attentive, ensuring that every little detail was perfect for a flawless experience.
