"What can we say this place took our breathe away! Such a beautiful setting with the accommodation set right amongst the natural surroundings of how these animals should be seen. "Simply outstanding hotel near Addo Elephant Park. Special mention for Edwin on front of house who accomodated our dietary needs perfectly. The food was simply spectacular at both breakfast and dinner and the setting overlooking a pond with weaver birds is very special. The photos dont do justice to the welcome you receive as the futnishings are a little old school, but the room size and facilities are very good. Trips to Addo on their landcruiser were easy and trouble free. "

A warm welcome on arrival and our room was very spacious and comfortable ( the bed was quite hard but perhaps the mattress was new). An indoor and outdoor shower meant you could wash under the incredible stars in the night sky if so inclined. Lodge was comfortable and well decorated if slightly lacking in atmosphere. "You’re right on the edge of the best reserve in the area & the game drives are all on the Shamwari Game Reserve. These are better than we ever expected & our ranger/guide, Cillia, was the best! Daniel at the Lodge managed everything for us & was always there for our needs, nothing was too much trouble & he ensured everything ran like clockwork. Cynthia was brilliant, always smiling and calm, Ntombi was also excellent and helped us with our questions about local culture. Overall superb!"
