"The hotel is on an old farm site, and the rooms are in various different buildings. My room was in the furthest building from the restaurant. There is no lighting on the paths between the buildings, which are gravel and have puddles in the hollows. If you're staying in winter, you will want a flashlight to make your way around. There were no tea and coffee making facilities in the room, they were in the lobby area of each building. The wet room style shower was great, with good water pressure....

"We stayed here for two nights so that we could do a glacier and ice cave hike, and a glacier lagoon boat trip at Jokulsarlon. The guesthouse was in an amazing setting close to the mountains. The cabins were clean and very comfortable. The included continental breakfast was excellent. It would have been nice if they'd offered a dinner option too, but the owner was able to recommend the restaurant at the nearby Hotel Smyrlabjorg. We ate there both nights and the food was amazing. "Such a lovely place to stay and in an amazing location with awesome views. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. We loved the toiletries provided in the bathroom. To eat its only a short drive to cafes or restaurants nearby. Diamond Beach is just a few minutes drive too. Behind the property is a scenic waterfall which is well worth a short hike. We loved staying here and will definitely be back."
