The hotel is not pretty from the outside, but inside it's new and clean, even if not stylish and definitely not very "Mexican".
The down side is the neighborhood. I didn't like Escarcega at all: a lot of traffic, trucks and dust. On the other hand, after visiting Calakmul, it was an OK stop before proceeding to Campeche. Overall, if you really need to stop in Escarcega, this hotel is a good option to rest.
Note: the breakfast was included in our booking, and it was served in a restaurant nearby that we didn't like at all. We even found dead insects in the sugar. However, there is a tasty tacos street food place across the street.
