Parking isn’t free, $40 per day. There’s parking outside the hotel but it’s at your own risk. The gate to exit never worked so we had to press the call button to have it opened each time we wanted to exit, they never checked to see if we had paid parking so basically paid for 4 nights of parking for no reason.

The hotel is old school, but clean and well-maintained. The Marina location is cool. And while its not really walkable, it was easy and close (by car) to get to a fun area for an open-air arts market, restaurants (including Chez Pannise), and the overall Berkeley experience. The staff were busy (event check in?), but friendly. We were only there two nights. We would happily stay again … especially considering the price.

I was too far from lobby in disability room I really didn’t want. Too far & difficult to access lobby & areas near it. The entrance to my building was flooded with rain & made it hard to stay dry. Also no one told me I’d be in “dog” building! I’m allergic!

Great location next to the marina. Chair at the room’s desk was damaged but promptly replaced. Breakfast on first day was mediocre. “Breakfast potatoes” were tepid. Sausage had been hanging around a bit too long and the toast was a bit soggy. Eggs were very good. Had dinner on Christmas Day- fish and chips. Very large portion size, fish batter wasn’t particularly crisp which was disappointing. I’d give the food 6/10, not great value for money. Snacks from the on-site shop were extortionate. Extra coffees provided upon request by the friendly reception staff.
