The site of world records and world-class hockey, this is one of Vancouver’s most significant stadiums. Catch a game and explore the surrounding park.

Pacific Coliseum is one of Vancouver’s major sporting venues and has hosted some of the most significant sporting events in the city’s history. Tour the arena, where figure skaters and speed skaters competed during the 2010 Winter Olympics. See the rink where the world record for women’s figure skating was set. Watch a hockey game and enjoy the lively atmosphere.

For several decades, Pacific Coliseum served as the home of the Vancouver Canucks, one of Canada’s most successful hockey teams. Today, it hosts the Vancouver Giants, which were formed in 2001. Visit during the winter months to watch a Giants home game. With over 15,000 seats, the arena is a dazzling sight when it is filled with cheering hockey fans.

In addition to hockey, the stadium hosts a variety of other sports and events, including basketball games and boxing matches. Come to the arena to watch a circus performance or live music concert at many times throughout the year. Some of the world’s most famous musical acts have performed here, including David Bowie and the Rolling Stones.

Pacific Coliseum stands within Hastings Park, which includes a horse racetrack and a fairground. Explore the rest of the park and discover a peaceful natural getaway in the heart of downtown Vancouver. Just next to the arena, find Il Giardino Italiano, an Italian-style landscaped garden. See sculptures scattered around the garden, based on Italian opera characters. In summer watch horses competing at the racetrack.

During August, the whole park complex fills with thousands of visitors to the Pacific National Exhibition. This agricultural fair features concerts, a lively carnival and various trade conventions that take place inside the coliseum. Attend the exhibition and try the rides at the fairground.

Pacific Coliseum is located 5 miles (8 kilometres) east of downtown Vancouver. Access the area easily by bus. Parking is available, for a fee, within the Hastings Park complex. Buy tickets to events and games online.
