My wife and I recently visited Rome and stayed at Aldebaran B&B for five nights total. Laura is the host and she makes you feel at home. Our trip started with two flight being cancelled and instead of arriving in the morning we arrived at night. When we finally arrived at the B&B, Laura greeted us and asked if we were hungry. Laura called a local restaurant and made a reservation for us, the food was amazing. The B&B is located close to the bus, trolley and Metro. Laura keeps her B&B supper clean and even though we shared a bathroom we never had any issues with our neighbors. It was our first time in Rome and Laura made sure to give us a map with a game plan of must see places. She told us how to get there and suggested places to eat. Trust me, make sure to eat at the places that she suggest. When we visit Rome again we will be staying at Aldebaran B&B with Laura. Do yourself a favor and stay here, you wont be disappointed. Gracias Laura.

Laura was so friendly and made us feel at home. Always available to answer questions and teach us a bit of Italian! The room was spacious, clean and well equipped. Very quiet at night with a very comfy bed so slept well during our stay. Plenty of restaurants and a supermarket in walking distance and we walked into Rome center every day so no need for bus which meant we saw a lot more of the city. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

This place was excellent! Very clean, nice rooms, great staff. Staff accommodated early check in. There is a nice terrace in the back that is a beautiful quiet spot to sit after dinner. The breakfast was also excellent, with a wide variety of foods.

My stay was amazing! I would return in a heartbeat. Laura was an incredible host and made me feel so welcome. I loved my morning cappuccino and croissant. She helped me figure out how to get to various sites, shared restaurant recs and more.

Laura is a gem:) she is ultra friendly and very relatable, is very, very eager to help with anything you request... we had a very scary incident in which she bailed us out. I left my passport at the airport when I went to exchange money and of course, we were sooo tired and just wanted to begin enjoying our journey to Italy which was just beginning... Laura was on the phone with airport officials and her ex husband, who just happened to be at the airport! boy were we lucky!!! after many calls and texts, Laura was able to figure it out!! Thanks so much you angel!! so sorry it took this long to write the review... ask her for restaurant recommendations and all the other stuff... :) Love, Chris and Rob from Chicago!!

A must for your visit to Rome
Laura had the most amazing hospitality during our stay in Rome and provided us with daily breakfast (delicious!), local recommendations and Italian 101 crash courses. The B&B is about a 7 min. walk from a metro station, a 15-20 min. walk from the Colosseum (a must-see at night, too) & the Roman Forum and other local attractions. Our room on the top floor was spacious for 2, very clean and had large windows that opened up to the street below; the shared bathroom was also very clean but tricky in the mornings when several guests need to shower and use the bathroom at that time. We suggest bringing earplugs as the floor/bathroom is shared with another room — the guests and noise travel.

Laura made us a wonderful home away from home. She was always there to answer our questions and point us in the right direction. She made us breakfast every morning and even catered to my dietary needs (hard to do in Italy). I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Rome after finding Aldebaran B&B. If you want a real Roman experience, with a wonderful woman who is not in it for the money, this B&B will be perfect for you. I can't even begin to say enough nice things about Laura (the owner). She really is just an amazing person, host, and guide. Thanks for our wonderful time in Rome with you, Laura.

Amazing Bed and Breakfast close to Colosseum
The host was very sweet and helped plan where to go in the city. The rooms were clean and comfortable even in the Italian summer heat. Breakfast was a treat each morning, with tea, coffee, or a cappuccino provided as well. There is a grocery shop right around the corner if needed, and a good number of restaurants around the area as well. In order to get to the heart of Rome, there is a fifteen minute walk to the Colosseum, but there are buses and the tram stations within five minutes if needed. The city itself was close enough to explore by walking from the Bed and Breakfast, and fun ideas of where to explore were provided by the host if asked. It was a delight to stay here and I would fully recommend this place!

Great stay at Laura’s lovely home. Great location for exploring Rome, close to Metro station. Comfortable bed, quiet area, good night’s sleep. What makes Aldebaran magical is Laura, a gracious, friendly host who has the hospitality spirit and knows how to help travelers explore Italy. Cappuccini made our breakfasts extra special. We hope to stay again, and highly recommend Aldebaran.

Aldebaran B&B, May 2015
Laura was wonderful, keeps a spotless house, very gracious. She went above and beyond to help me when my camera was stolen on the bus by a pickpocket. This put a serious damper on my trip, but certainly wasn't her fault at all. The B&B is well located but the street is dirty, with smelly dumpsters and trash outside them. Forget about finding a parking spot there. Short walk to metro and buses. I don't think I'll be returning to Rome, but if I ever do, I will give this B&B serious consideration.

Best B&B experience ever!
Laura is a superb hostess. When we arrived at her place, she sat us down and explained everything there was to know about the house, Rome, public transportation, etc. She shared her intimate knowledge of great local restaurants and hangouts and went out of her way to make us feel comfortable. We had a room on the 3rd floor with a small but beautiful balcony. As others have mentioned, there is also rooftop access and free WIFI. The location, room and amenities were all great, but it is Laura herself that makes this the best B&B in Rome. When she serves her great breakfast and throughout the stay, you are treated as a friend, and that to me, is priceless. I would recommend this B&B to everyone going to Rome!

Can't imagine a better stay!
Laura has to be the best host ever! When we arrived at her place, she sat us down and explained everything there was to know about the house, Rome, public transportation, how to skip the lines for each attraction etc. And then we were shown to our room, which was on the 2nd floor. The room was small but cute, the decor was warm and welcoming, my favourite part was the small balcony overlooking the street below. The bathroom was right next to our bedroom, and we only needed to share it with the other room on our floor. It was spacious, clean, and had a very unique curved door. Laura was always helpful with any questios we had, and always went the extra mile to help us arrange gallery bookings and shuttle service to the airport. The stay at Laura's B&B made Rome so much more enjoyable for us. I would recommend this B&B to anyone and everyone going to Rome!

The owner, Laura, is special. When we arrived she provided us with a map, telephone numbers and explained where the best sites were and how to get there. She provides a wonderful breakfast to start the day and is very helpful answering all questions in a bright and cheery manner. We would recommend this B & B to anyone

Nice B&B Conveniently located.
Laura runs a tight ship. Friendly people. Very clean. Secure. Walking distance to subway. Short drive to termini. Take the subway 30 minutes to Vatican. We usually left early each of the three days we stayed ther. Though we left to early for breakfast Laura made sure we had a light snack to carry with us (coffee would have been nice, but hardly posdible with our early hours. No coffee or kettle in ropm. Nice rooftop area for light dining or cocktails ( food not allowed in rooms). our room was on 3rd floor (As Americans this would be the 4th floor, no lift. Remove shoes before entering the house or wear provided shoe covers. This was our first B&B without ensuite. Inconvenient for both of us though only across hallway.
