Sal was amazing! Incredible beaches, friendly people, great weather. The only negative is there are are lot of men that get into your personal space or grab your hands. I’m often a solo female traveller and I wouldn’t travel here alone.
Some great restaurants on the beach with fresh seafood which was amazing.... kitesurfing was good at kite beach 6 days out of 10 with constant wind on 12 metre kite. Also kited on ponto preta and santa maria beaches were good too.
A very laid back island thats not as yet over developed so feels quite authentic. Lots of watersports, cruises and tours to choose from. I would happily return in the future.
If you don't like doing water sports or being on the beach all the time, then I would definitely not spend more than a week here because other than the fantastic beach & sea related activities there is not that much exciting to do.
