Allow your imagination to run wild as you discover the interactive nature, science and technology exhibits at this museum with plenty of interactive activities.

Discover the fun side of science at Sudbury’s Science North, a museum with attractions that will entertain visitors of all ages. Enter the museum through a rock-cut tunnel and explore a captivating collection of hands-on exhibits dedicated to nature, science and technology.

The museum spreads across four floors. Find activities aimed at toddlers on the first floor. Then, experience the life of a firefighter via an adrenalin-inducing 4-D movie. On the second floor, walk through an enclosed garden to spot over 400 colourful butterflies flying amid more than 200 exotic plant species. Play music on a rock xylophone, see millennia-old fossils and handle tropical invertebrates.

Participate in live science shows in the Discovery Theatre on the third floor. After the show, spot nocturnal creatures such as bats, flying squirrels and owls. Glimpse inside a living bee colony or stroll through a replica forest of North Ontario trees. Among the fourth-floor exhibits are opportunities to be a DJ, fly an aircraft in a flight simulator, test your speed and fitness and take a cinematic journey along the Great Lakes.

While visiting, enjoy movies that showcase everything from the world’s most fascinating wildlife to its most interesting cities at the museum’s 200-seat IMAX® theatre. Take a seat in the planetarium to watch astronomy movies that explain the mystical stars, planets and galaxies of the known universe.

Science North is less than a 10-minute drive from downtown Sudbury. Parking is available onsite, for a fee, for those arriving by car. Public buses travel between the museum and downtown Sudbury. If you are feeling energetic, walk the 45 minutes from downtown Sudbury to the museum. Go to Ramsey Lake and then follow the scenic Bell Park Boardwalk.

Science North is open daily, except for some public holidays. There are separate admission fees for the museum, IMAX® theatre and planetarium. Purchase a combined ticket that grants all-day access to the attractions plus the Dynamic Earth science museum. Visit Science North’s official website for complete opening times, admission fees and information about workshops for children and adults.
