Our stay at Owen House was fantastic. The rooms are spacious and well equipped with good knives so you can actually cook, which came handy to us. The location is prime, next to the MRT and many bus lines, and across from a Mall which was fantastic. Sandra and the staff in general are amazing and very welcoming. I can't recommend enough. For the price and what you get, it's fantastic for Singapore!

The location of the hotel is right next to Little India Night Market. However, the walk from the hotel to the LITTLE INDIA MRT station is quite long and complicated, it would be hard for you to find your way without using google maps. The closest MRT station is FARRER PARK, it is a 1 minute walk from the hotel. While the interior of the hotel is pretty stylish, the rooms lacked a lot of necessities such as tissue, slippers, cue tips... etc. While the room looked clean, I still had my doubts. (It just didn't feel clean, although it did look like it was) Overall, it was not a bad experience but I probably wouldn't go back if I visited Singapore again as it seems like there are a lot of different options for a similar price.

I would avoid at all costs. We checked in after 10pm and were given a horrific room that had obviously not been cleaned/checked by housekeeping and which did not match the description of the room booked. It had twin beds, instead of the queen bed booked, and frosted windows with no view, instead of the clear windows shown in the photos of the room. The ventilation grilles and windows were extremely dusty and looked like they had not been cleaned in years. One of shower gel dispensers was broken and the safe could not be used because it had been left open in the locked position. I immediately went back downstairs to the check-in desk and asked to change rooms but was told I could only do so in the morning. We thus had to make do but there was a continuous mechanical/ventilation noise that got increasingly louder through the night and affected our sleep. In the morning, we were able to get a room change albeit that the room was not available until after 3. The new room was significantly better and had clear windows with a view, but the ventilation grilles and windows were still extremely dirty. At no point did we receive an apology for the unacceptable state of the first room. The common areas in the building are also very run down and not reflective of the hotel's price point.

The area is seething with life & activity. Metro almost downstairs. Magnificent Mustafa Mall of everything, directly across the street, currently daily until 2am, in Sept to go 24hrs. Aircon worked fine (essential), heaps of floor area in the room.

Excellent location
Small but convenient room. Excellent location. A stones throw away from a metro station. Check in was quick. No water bottles were provided in the room, however they have water dispensers situated in the communal kitchens on floors 4 and 6. Perfect for a couple on short stopover.

Good location and very short walk to Farrer Park station and bus stops. Also close to shopping malls so quite convenient. Room bathroom was spacious and clean. Downsides are 1. There are minimal facilities e.g. no gym, laundry so I wouldn't recommend it for longer stays. 2. Acoustics are terrible. We could hear the room next door (even conversations), not to say from the outside corridor. 3. Staff was also unhelpful to my friend when an issue occurred. The cleaners had accidentally took one of her belongings after they did their room cleaning. When my friend got back to hotel, it was gone. When the situation was brought up to the the staff, they kept pushing back saying my friend had most likely lost it or she packed it in her luggage and forgot. My friend kept requesting for them to check with the cleaners and after 5 minutes of the staff denying it was probably their fault, they finally gave in. We waited for around 15 minutes and they admitted they found it and the cleaners had accidentally took it. Overall not a BAD place to stay but nowhere near the best.

Excellent basic hotel in Singapore. Great location in Little India, close to everything. Friendly helpful staff. 2 communal kitchens as well as studios with kitchenettes. Rooms are a little run down but perfectly ok.

We stayed at the Family Room with 2 Queen Beds Pros: - Close to the Farrer Park mrt - Staff was very responsive - The Queen Beds' firmness suit our needs Cons: - The bathroom does not have any ventilation/exhaust fan - Sofa bed is noisy and not comfortable - The room is not sound proof. We could hear other guest yelling at the hall at around 9.30 pm when we first arrived. - We could only get one key card at the beginning as they ran out of card and had to wait until a few hours before we got the second card.

The rooms were incredibly small as me and my friend were 6ft , hygiene was poor, there was painting during our check in and outside of our rooms. They were refusing to upgrade our rooms even though we insisted on paying the difference. Poor customer service
