Beautiful, artistic, great view, + location
This is an apartment with 4 bedrooms, beside & with wonderful views of Kazan Cathedral; which is just outside. It's beautifully designed; very artistic; & lots of ballet-themed pictures on the walls. So the name is perfect... Ingenious use of space; the rooms are quite small, but feel much bigger, as the bed is upstairs in a low ceilinged mezzanine. The entrance lobby contains a kitchen, + washing machine & dryer. Rooms have a fridge, & an iron, & TV. WiFi works well. I extended my stay, & had to change room. The second was very like the first; just a different colour scheme & slightly varied layout. There's no check in desk. Staff will contact you to arrange a meeting, to let you in. (Initial contact was a text in Russian, which I copied into google translate; after that they used English. They were friendly, responsive, easy to deal with.) There is no sign or street number outside; I walked to the location on the map, & someone was waiting for me, as we had arranged. The area is perfect. Just off Nevsky Prospekt, near the House of Books & Church of the Spilled Blood (one of the most beautiful buildings in Russia). Walking distance to almost everything, metro & buses very close by, & lots of cafes, restaurants & convenience stores. No breakfast is served,but there are many cafes & restaurants of different types, some open 24 hours. Staying in a apartment was a nice change from hotels; living like a local.
