"My stay at the Diplomat was lovely. It is an elegant hotel in a beautiful, historic building. The charm of the water across the street and being able to easily walk to the tram or subway near was super convenient. My room was well appointed with nice linens and a comfortable bed. Great water pressure in the shower too! I ate at the downstairs restaurant twice, both times exactly what I needed with good food and attentive service. "The property was undergoing refurbishment so area around reception was chaotic. However, the staff were fantastic and in particular there was a very cheerful and helpful person who guided us to the breakfast area without needing to ask. Room was quite small, and there was no clarity around some snacks and a bottle of wine kept on the table - whether they were to be paid for or not and what the prices were. Ok for short business trips as the working desk and WiFi were good."
