4/10 Poor

My APA stays before this have been fine. But the single rooms at this property push the limits of acceptability for western guests, with 11 sq-m rooms. I had to rearrange the room to be able to do pushups in the morning. The worst part is that APA shamelessly and cynically greenwashes all their cost-saving practices, declaring very often "for earth, we (fill in cost-saving measure here)". But if you replace "for earth" with "for maximum profits," ALL their cuts to room services and amenities make so much more sense. Also, you can't have it both ways. You can't say "for earth" on everything, then distribute *individually wrapped q-tips* in your "amenities bag" that arrives every morning. It's insultingly transparent. The gist of it is that they do *all* the cost cutting things, *all* of which inconvenience you while saving the hotel chain money, and they will *always* find a way say it's for the environment.
On the other hand, I paid $135USD/nt for a hotel walking distance from Tokyo International Forum, which is a great deal. Would I do it again? I might stay at this particular APA again, but I would probably spend a little extra to get a double room, even for a single person.
So in short, the location is great, the staff is friendly, the price is good...but it's not a hotel you're going to want to *be* in - just a place to sleep. And not good for stays much longer than a week.
