Ukita Park

An animal park and a children’s playground stand beside a youth baseball field and colorful flower displays in this serene park.

Ukita Park is the ideal spot to enjoy hot summer weather with your family. The leafy space combines the traditional Japanese elements of a pond and garden with fun activities for children. Forget the bright lights of the tower-laden city center for a while in this tranquil and scenic haven.

Let your kids frolic in the playground, while you relax with a book on the grass. Bring snacks and drinks for a picnic on the lawn. Wooden tables and benches here also help create an idyllic lunch spot. Notice a variety of plants framing the sides of the nature trails that meander through this urban park.

Rest from the heat in the shade of one of the trees amid the colorful floral displays. Sit with a book on a circular bench wrapping around a tree. The animal park lets your kids get close to a variety of exotic creatures.

Enjoy the absolute serenity beside the pond, where you may spot local fishing enthusiasts patiently hoping for a big catch.

This large park also has sports fields. Watch one of the games of youth baseball that are often played here. Join the cyclists and joggers doing laps around the water feature and sports fields of the park.

The park was inaugurated in 2002 and is equipped with restrooms and natural-disaster-prevention facilities. Enter the site for free.
