Experience a holiday of outdoor adventures against a backdrop of mountain scenery at Verbier Ski Resort. Ride mellow or thrilling descents in winter. Hike and bike along mountain trails in summer. Admire panoramic views from one of Europe’s highest igloo bars.
Verbier Ski Resort is one part of the 4 Vallées, a collection of ski resorts that together possess over 255 miles (410 kilometres) of pistes. The other resorts are Nendaz, Veysonnaz and Thyon. Verbier Ski Resort itself incorporates the ski areas of La Tzoumaz Savoleyres, Bruson and 10,823-feet (3,300-metre) high Mont-Fort.
Ride the lifts and gondolas from Verbier village to access the vast skiing terrain. Beginners can take lessons on the nursery slopes of Les Esserts before moving onto the La Chaux runs. While at La Chaux, practice freestyling at the Snowpark. Ride a toboggan from the top of Savoleyres to LA Tzoumaz. Carve down from heights of 7,219 feet (2,200 metres) and above on the Les Attelas, Les Gentianes and Les Ruinettes slopes. Marvel at imposing peaks as you traverse cross-country and snowshoeing trails. Try night skiing and join guided night hikes.
In the summer months extensive hiking trails pass flower-filled meadows, pine forests and glacial lakes. Spot contemporary sculptures on a walk between La Chaux and Les Ruinettes. Watch the sunrise from Mont-Fort or admire the bird’s-eye view of Verbier on a paragliding flight. Bike along exhilarating downhill tracks and across mountain ridges. Play a round of miniature golf at Parc Loisrs.
Back in the village, dine at an assortment of cafés and restaurants. Experience Verbier’s lively après-ski scene at cosy pubs, cocktail lounges and nightclubs. Alternatively, gaze across snow-covered peaks from Igloo Du Mont-Fort bar.
The ski season at Verbier Ski Resort runs from late November to late April. Find lift operating hours, activity prices and accommodation listings on the resort’s official website.
