What you can expect

Discover the iconic attractions of Rio de Janeiro on this 2-day tour. Join a guide and visit the impressive Metropolitan Cathedral before journeying up Sugarloaf Mountain on a cable car for incredible views. Finally, visit Christ the Redeemer and marvel at one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.

Day 1: Arrival in Rio de Janeiro On your first day, touch down at the Rio de Janeiro airport, where your guide greets you and helps you with your things. After check-in at your hotel, spend the rest of your day as you please.

Day 2: Metropolitan Cathedral, Sugarloaf Mountain & Christ the Redeemer Start your morning with a comprehensive tour of city centre. Your guide takes you first to the Metropolitan Cathedral, which features modernist architecture. Continue on to Sugarloaf Mountain, catching a cable car from the base up to Urca Hill on your way to Sugarloaf's peak at 1,299 feet (396 m) above the ground. Spend time marvelling at the panoramic views of Rio and Niteroi before descending the mountain once more.

Take lunch in a local churrascaria for a taste of traditional Brazilian barbecue, and then head to the dense Tijuca National Park. Here, board a train for a scenic ride up Corcovado Mountain. Step out at the summit, where you're greeted with the sight of the Christ the Redeemer statue. The 125-foot (38-m) masterpiece watches over the city. After admiring the massive sculpture, head back to your hotel and end your journey with a return transfer to the airport.
