What you can expect

On this original tour you will experience Prague through the eyes of one of the world’s most famous composers, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. While Mozart has spent most of his life in Vienna, it is the 18th century Prague that responded with most enthusiasm to his music, as he said, “My Praguers understand me”. Discover why Prague fell in love with Mozart!

Choose the 2-hour option for a Mozart-themed walking tour. The first point of interest will be the Estates Theatre, where two of Mozart’s operas were premiered, including the highly successful performance of Don Giovanni. Upon receiving a special invitation to visit Prague, Mozart came to the city in 1787 and oversaw the first ever performance of the Symphony No. 38, popularly known as the “Prague” Symphony.

Throughout the tour you will hear about Mozart’s days in Prague and the great appreciation that met him here. You will walk through the Old Time Square, see the iconic 600-years-old Astronomical Clock, and stop by The Clam-Gallas Palace, where Mozart also attended during one of his five visits to Prague. Cross the iconic Charles Bridge and see the Church of St Nicholas, which houses a Baroque organ that Mozart played in 1787. Mozart premiered Mass in C at this church.

Finally, you will visit the Czech Museum of Music. Don't worry about waiting in long lines, as with skip-the-line tickets you can head straight to the entrance. The museum houses a collection of musical instruments and archives. Among its treasures are instruments on which Mozart and Liszt played during their visits to Prague. This is a real treat for fans of classical music.

Choose the extended 3-hour option for additional tickets for the evening concert of Mozart’s music. In 1791 when Mozart was laid to rest in Vienna, the grief exhibited for the composer in Prague far exceeded that witnessed in any other European city, with over a hundred musicians performing at his memorial service attended by thousands of Praguers. To this day, Mozart is highly celebrated in the city, and his classical compositions can be regularly heard across many prestigious venues.
