Certainly found it enjoyable to find out a bit more of the history behind Scotch whisky. Sitting down in the cellar area with the tasting was definitely the highlight though! The guide was very knowledgeable and he had good charisma. I can appreciate that this is more of a learning tour than a drinking session, so I think people should understand this before booking. As the tour only allows time for 4 out the 6 districts of whisky-making to be sampled, I'd personally suggest condensing the first half of the tour to allow for more time when sampling to fit in the other two. Albeit I imagine this would require a small increase in cost or reduction in sample sizes. All in all, it was a great tour and I appreciate everyone who was involved.

The tour was fantastically led by Charles whose knowledge of the history of whiskey (or whisky as the Scots would say) was second-to-none! Highly recommend the tour to whiskey novices, like us!

Our tour guide Charles was fantastic. Very informative, friendly and taught us a lot about the history of whiskey. The tour starts at the Royal Mile. Fred was our guide. During the one hour tour through the old town she gave us a lot of information about the whisky production and the importance for the inhabitants. Fred also did the tasting afterwards. We got a lot of exciting information about the different whiskys. I enjoyed the tour very much, especially in the beautiful and cosy room where the tasting took place.
