"Friendly staff greeted us and available 24 hours. Very nice people. The room and beds were comfortable but the bathroom had a lot of black mould that needs bleaching/removal. "We booked a standard room but they upgraded it to deluxe room (a nice surprise to ease our tiredness after traveling on a plane) Hotel staff were friendly and very helpful, breakfast is very good, room is spacious, overall we loved our stay at East Indies Mansion. Tip: Don't forget to try the indian restaurant near the hotel (corner of lebuh pinang and lebuh china), their chicken kebab and cheese naan are delicious."

"Very clean, well built and modern for the area. All of historical George Town immediately walkable from the front door. Nice chilled filtered water dispenser. « Windowless » family rooms were not a worry, as the bathroom area does have windows. At that price range I would stay there again and explore the old town. "Super new and posh, as expected. Everything was premium quality. Wouldn’t recommend for family stay (especially with young children) 2 things can be improved: bathroom door need label, we knocked head on the glass; when we asked for something delivered to the room, the staff came inside the room while we were all in the toilet, that was unpleasant."

"Complaint against the Hotel which collected extra charges of twenty Malaysian ringgit (RM20.00). Such charges should have been collected by Expedia when I booked the hotel room. Complaint against Expedia which does not follow up my complaint even after I have sent the scan copy of receipt of those extra charges via email.
