"This is not a place for everyone. A very pleasant chalet style house within easy walking distance of everything in Oranjestad. Need a car (about $500 for two weeks to get round the island. Far more interesting than staying in an anonymous hotel and only 2 minutes from the sea. Fred, the owner, was charming and very helpful. So don't stay there if you want pampered luxury, do if you want to explore a fascinating place"

"Very clean property. Staff (that wasn't front desk) was amazing. Pool staff, wait staff, cleaning crews all top notch. Tips for exceptional service go a long way. If I had one suggestion it would be for the front desk staff, they seemed out of sync with the rest of the property. They didn't have simple answers and could have easily made a few things easier with clarification. I'm being a little nitpicky and clearly it's not enough to lose a star over. We would stay (and will stay) here...
