"Loved our stay in the presidential suite! The private onsen on the rooftop balcony was incredible. Room was very spacious and comfortable. Price was great for this room! English was a bit tough but front desk was very helpful. Ate the included traditional Japanese dinner and breakfast for only 1 out of our 2 nights there. You’ll need to be adventurous for those meals! There’s also a great ramen and burger walking spot nearby for a less adventurous meal. The public onsen was gorgeous and not crowded mid-afternoon. We both have a couple tattoos and were okay to enter, and could also use a towel to cover if needed. Booked a couples massage and facial, massage was lymphatic drainage and helped reduce swelling for all those Japanese beers and eats when down in Tokyo. Suspension bridge near the hotel was fun to explore and easy access to a waterfall view. Foot bath at the attached restaurant with a beer was great! Our room shower didn’t work during peak onsen hours and was very outdated. Overall would come here if you’re looking for a remote experience in Japan off the beaten path. Get the presidential suite, you won’t regret it!"

"Don't be afraid to book this place. Unlike the previous reviews which I also read, we didn't get stranded outside and check in was a breeze! Make sure to check your email the night before you arrive! A key code and check in instructions are all there. It took 5 minutes to check in on the tablet once inside since I filled out the registration (link found in the email) prior to arriving. The link will ask you to for the names and a picture of your pasport of each guest. Providing your pasport is not unusual in Japan. Every hotel will ask you to make a copy as required by law for security reasonsI liked the spacious studio apartment for my family. Lots of room/space to unwind after a busy day. The bed comforters were very warm- a plus for the chilly autumn nights. A quick 10 min walk to JR Nikko station, 13mins to Tobu Nikko. Welcia and 7-11 were very close by and was great option for food to bring back to our place to eat or cook. Only downside was that they didn't provide any laundry detergent and the dryer function on the washer/dryer machine didn't work. We ended up buying some detergent from Welcia and found a clothes rack in the closet to hang our clothes on to dry. "

"The hotel property is amazing. But don’t like the area. Everything closed around 5:00 pm. There was no restaurant s in the area and shopping, so we have to eat at the hotel. "

"Buffet was excellent with an enormous array of food. Private onsen was approx ¥3300 for 45minutes. There is quite a lot to do around the local area, we stayed one night but easily could have filled in two days."
