"The hotel is not located near anything interesting and is wildly difficult to access. I’m all for isolation but getting here is a pain and staying here is boring. It’s overpriced and I found the staff to be dishonest. No body speaks English, and while this was fine at other hotels who were intelligent enough to communicate by pointing and body language, as is standard around the world, the staff here seemed incapable or just uninterested. "The surrounding area is beautiful. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rate included breakfast which was nice. However, this is an all-smoking room hotel - contrary to what it’s listed as. There was no noticeable odor in the room, but might not be the same for all. And they’re having trouble with the hot spring source so there’s no onsen water to the room balcony baths (my main reason for booking), and their regular hot spring will be sometimes closed. That was the most disappointing part. "
